An epidemiological investigation on the gynecological cancer patients

Abstract
|
|
|
Epidemiological investigation has been performed on the 137 gynecological cancer patients admitted to Chonnam University Hospital during 1979 calendar year, and following results were obtained.
1. In whole 137(gynecological cancer) patients, mode of age was belong to 4~49 years old group which occupies 43.1 % of total patients, and average length of hospital stay was 16.6 days with 13.7 days of standard deviation.
2. Distribution of payment types were own expenses payment type 57.7%,, medical insurance type 37.2 % and medicaid type 5.1 %.
3. In geographic distribution, about 60% of patients were urban residents.
4. 61.3% of total admitted patients received operation, and average length of hospital stay of operated patients was slightly longer than non operated patients, as 17.0±11.0 days versus 15.8±12.0 days respectively.
Distribution of payment types of operated patients were own expenses 50.0%, medical insurance 48. 8% and medicaid 1.2%.
5. Prognoses of whole patients were "cured and improved" 68.6%., "no change" 29.2% and "dead" 2.2%, whereas improving rate of operated patients was 89.3%.
